Brith Shalom's Central European Context: A Symposium within the framework of the 14th World Congress for Jewish Studies Hebrew University in Jerusalem August 2, 2005

Brith Shalom association – identified first and foremost with the idea of a bi-national state as a solution to the national conflict in Palestine/Eretz Israel – came into being in the months following the 14th Zionist Congress in 1925.

The Richard Koebner Minerva Center for German History at the Hebrew University will hold a symposium on the Central European context of Brith Shalom, marking the 80th anniversary of the association's formation.

The symposium will consist of lectures by both established professors and upcoming young scholars, analyzing a wide array of aspects of the Brith Shalom phenomenon and its Central European context. The symposium will take place within the framework of the 14th World Congress for Jewish Studies (Jerusalem, July 31 – August 4, 2005).
