The book “We Are the Novelty” presents the story of pioneering educators who combined innovative pedagogical ideas from Germany and successfully implemented them in the Amalani school – a children’s community in Tel Aviv. Through the description of their efforts and the establishment of an educational institution based on freedom and initiative, the book examines the influence of Central European pedagogy on the design of Hebrew education in the settlement, and more broadly on questions concerning the essence of our education today.
